You will need an Apple ID - you may have created one when you started up your Mac the first time after you bought it. Regardless of whether you do it on your own or go to an Apple Store, you will purchase Pages, Numbers & Keynote through the Mac App Store (online). On the other hand, if you purchased AppleCare, you could call them and they will help you on the phone and you won't have to take your Mac into a store. Certainly someone in an Apple Store can help you and that may be the most comfortable route for you - but you would need to bring your Mac into the store.
